Days 2 & 3 in San Diego - am I in heaven?

Well, it has just been a dream trip so far.  Each of the last two days, I woke up early (5am EDT or rather 2am PDT), read a bit, fell back asleep and then eventually got up to hang out with my friends who are kindly hosting me here.  We chat during the morning and just before noon head over to the La Jolla Cove to swim for an hour or so.  Nothing too stressful.  I am in great shape and only need to get to the swim in one piece now.  Easy does it.  Chris and I swam yesterday while poor Anders worked.  Someone has to work these days.  So we swam from the cove to La Jolla Shores and back.  Afterwards, we headed over to the Promiscuous Fork for a tasty post-swim "snack."
Chris' idea of a snack is a full meal.  Of course, he could eat 8-10 full meals and still be hungry so "snack" seems to fit.  I was full afterwards but not too full that I couldn't find some room for a few beers.  We headed from the restaurant to La Jolla Shores (proper) for an afternoon visit with an old friend from NY - Graham Weiss.  A few beers in the evening, we decided to walk his dog down to a few pubs and restaurants.  What a great evening.  We had five of us milling about, telling fun stories, and eating more "snacks" until it was time to crash.  What a great day.
Graham's view from his porch.  Pretty nice, eh?
Today started the same way except we had an early morning swim - perhaps early for Chris.  Start time was about 8am and the conditions were perfect.  Low tide stench gave way to seal stench and barking.  The water was unbelievably clear and warm.  Anders, Chris, and I swam for a bit more than an hour and then retired for more food.

If you think this adventure calls for a ton of food, you would be right.  I eat more than I swim these days - slightly different than when I was training.  OK, time for a 22 minute nap and more food afterwards.  Life is great here.  I could get accustomed to this lifestyle.  More updates to follow later.  Thanks for following my adventure.

NEWS FLASH!!!

My dad and brother are now coming to crew for me.  I am totally excited that they are making the trip.  Woo Hoo!  Now we will have a huge crew with really fun people and many eyes to keep watch of big, hungry grey things.  I intend to post a bit about my crew shortly.  What great news.  Again, thanks for following along.
