Week 39 Update: Mar 16, 2014 for the week beginning on March 2nd, 2014
A quick update from two weeks ago. I will follow up this post with a more detailed post of my current situation. All is well. Nothing to worry about. I am just swamped and need to focus more on gaining weight and getting my gear sorted for my climb. Again, more later. Here are the usual figures without much detail.
Workout Progress
Feeling better after I got on some antibiotics. My focus now is on recovering and gaining strength/weight for the climb. Remain focused and get my gear all set for my impending departure.
Plenty of fitness in the bank. Now, I am focused on hypoxic training.
Bunch of zeros added. No worries on my mind.
Again, zeros above and little accumulation below.
Weekly Summary
Post Utah trip was filled with work and recovery. I stopped swimming and running. Now all my focus is on eating to gain weight and working out on the elliptical machine at 20,000+ feet to be fully acclimatized for basecamp and slightly above.
Mood
Mood started to improve after I went to see Dr. Ted Kim. He set me straight with some antibiotics. All is well now.
Hypoxic Training
Back at it. Tent and hypoxic training. Sleep was not great but I expected that with my exercise taper. Too much on my mind these days. Exercise served to knock me out before. Now, I am too wired to sleep and have too much to do before I push off. Sleep will come. Nothing to see here….move on. I'll sleep. I promise.
Recovery (Restwise Data)
Recovering…finally! Look at the RWscore in the figure below. That line shows how much of a hit I took from these past few weeks. Sheesh! Resting HR increased while that score dropped. Despite all the eating, I remain at the same weight. More fish and chips coming up!
Updates for the week
More positive than my last post. Read the next one for more details….
